A Conservative, and former publisher of the National Review, endorses OBAMA!

This is a fantastic article.  If you never read another Hogwash post, read this one…

A Conservative for Obama | D Magazine - Dallas Fort Worth’s Resource for City Guides, Daily Blogs, D Bests, and Restaurants
Barack Obama is not my ideal candidate for president. (In fact, I made the maximum donation to John McCain during the primaries, when there was still hope he might come to his senses.) But I now see that Obama is almost the ideal candidate for this moment in American history. I disagree with him on many issues. But those don’t matter as much as what Obama offers, which is a deeply conservative view of the world. Nobody can read Obama’s books (which, it is worth noting, he wrote himself) or listen to him speak without realizing that this is a thoughtful, pragmatic, and prudent man. It gives me comfort just to think that after eight years of George W. Bush we will have a president who has actually read the Federalist Papers.

Karl, do you read my blog? Last night I brought up Wick Allison’s decision to endorse Obama, as well as a brief summary of why. I’m not faulting you for bringing this up, as it is monumental. I can’t wait til the theo-cons trumpet the Lady de Rothschild’s support of McCain because she feels like Barack is an elitist. That’s just what the Double-Talk Express needs, a billionaire calling someone else an elitist.

I don’t, but I’ll have to check it out. This was forwarded to me today from Patriot John.

I’ve been leaning more heavily towards Obama as we draw close to the election (and honestly, from reading some of the blogs on here too). You make a great point too about his books, both of them are written tremendously well. He is a very astute and articulate man.

Obama will more than likely win because, McCain has made more bad choices and speeches than he has good. I favor Obamas views on gay rights. McCain on the other hand does not view gays.

I’m already planning on voting for Obama, but I’ve noticed a trend among some of my conservative friends where they are really giving pause to the idea of jumping ship and voting democratic.
