One blogger had tracked down that fact that Sarah Palin (or Bristol Palin) gave birth to her fifth son at the age of 44 at Mat-su regional hospital. Click here for that story.
However, when he looked at the nursery records at matsuregional.com’s web site, there was not Palin listed as born on April 18, 2008.
Now, here is the strange part, www.matsuregional.com is not working. Coincidence?
But it was working on August 26th, when Google last cached it. Click here for that.
Update: the web site is functioning again, and sure enough, no Palin baby listed.

Sarah Palin,
Turn over your medical records. Let’s put these rumors to rest for all of our sake. Barack Obama has turned over his records. John McCain has turned over his records. There is not reason why you shouldn’t have to turn over your records.
I personally do not believe the pregnancy rumor is true, but I think it has legs because there are some legitimate questions surrounding the issue.

Sagacious Rambling: Follow up to Bristol Palin pregnancy rumor
Rumors are circulating online like wildfire about whether Governor Sarah Palin is young Trig’s, supposedly her 5th child, mother at all.
According to comments from classmates and other members of the community Bristol Palin, the governor’s 16 year old daughter was out of school during what would have been the last trimester of the governor’s pregnany due to a bad case of mono. A case so severe, according to the Palin family, Bristol missed nearly 5 months of school. Her own staff had their doubts back in March.
The story is that Sarah Palin’s water broke while she was attending a conference in Texas. She then proceeded to give a 30-minute speech before taking an 11-12 hour flight home to Alaska to give birth.
Follow the link and watch the video. Apparently, this video was taken when Sarah Palin was supposedly pregnant…8 MONTHS pregnant…with her fourth child.
I think it is time for someone to start pressuring Sarah Palin to turn over her medical records.

McCain Camp Didn’t Search Palin’s Hometown Paper Archives
On Saturday, a Democrat tasked with opposition research contacted the Huffington Post with this piece of information: as of this weekend, the McCain campaign had not gone through old newspaper articles from the Valley Frontiersman, Palin’s hometown newspaper.
How does he know? The paper’s (massive) archives are not online. And when he went to research past content, he was told he was the first to inquire.
“No one else had requested access before,” said the source. “It’s unbelievable. We were the only people to do that, which means the McCain camp didn’t.”

What The Palin Pick Means For Evangelicals - The Plank
Sarah Palin named two of her children after witches, once took drugs, and refused to sign a bill forbidding domestic benefits for gay couples. Any one of these–especially the first–would raise suspicion in the eyes of a traditional Southern Baptist. But for the governor of a Western state, these are not only the kinds of things a conservative can do, they are also the kinds of things an evangelical can do. Palin, the gun-toting mom, has a libertarian streak in politics and a libertarian streak in religion. In neither case are they fully consistent; she seems to have a soft spot for creationism, for example, and no doubt she will profess support for the highly punitive Republican Party platform. But it is already clear that her style of evangelicalism is one shaped by the region of the country in which she lives.

Op-Ed Columnist - McCain’s Baked Alaska - Op-Ed - NYTimes.com
This year, Hillary Clinton took things to a whole new level. She didn’t run for president as a symbol but as the best-prepared candidate in the Democratic pack. Whether you liked her or not, she convinced the nation that women could be qualified to both run the country and be commander in chief. That was an enormous breakthrough, and Palin’s nomination feels, in comparison, like a step back.

Palin’s Wikipedia Entry Gets Overhaul : NPR
All Things Considered, August 29, 2008 · If you happened to check Sarah Palin’s Wikipedia entry Thursday, you might have had a good tip about Friday’s announcement.
Someone — and apparently it was just one person — felt like the existing biography wasn’t appropriate for a vice-presidential candidate.
On Friday, 15 minutes before the rumor that John McCain had picked Palin as his running mate, a Wikipedia editor discovered 30 mostly favorable changes had been made to the Alaska governor’s profile.

Palin’s Story: A Political Chick-Flick - Politics news | Newser: Know More. Search Less.
Sarah Palin’s rise to the national stage makes for a great political chick-flick, Maureen Dowd observes in the New York Times. The plot: “the 2-year governor of an oversized igloo becomes commander in chief after the president-elect chokes on a pretzel on day one.” And eperience, schmexperience—“The PTA is great preparation for dealing with the KGB,” Palin would say after an Alaskan face-off with Vladimir Putin.

newsminer.com • Palin has much to prove
No doubt about it. In fact, as the governor herself acknowledged in her acceptance speech, she never set out to be involved in public affairs. She has never publicly demonstrated the kind of interest, much less expertise, in federal issues and foreign affairs that should mark a candidate for the second-highest office in the land. Republicans rightfully have criticized the Democratic nominee, Sen. Barack Obama, for his lack of experience, but Palin is a neophyte in comparison; how will Republicans reconcile the criticism of Obama with the obligatory cheering for Palin? Or will everyone just be forced to drop the subject? That’s not a comforting possibility. Although no one has the perfect resume and experience isn’t everything, it is an important quality to weigh. Palin, if elected vice president, would ascend to the presidency if anything should happen to McCain, who turned 72 today.

Daily Kos: State of the Nation
Yesterday, with the news of Sarah Louise Heath Palin inexplicably being chosen as a Vice-Presidential nominee, the attentive American public was also introduced to her character. Unfortunately for all of us, it was filled with multiple instances of backtracking and outright lies. While Alaskans had been giving her an 80% approval rating, recently 87% of Alaskans polled on the subject of TrooperGate believed she was lying.
Now, I’ve known liars in my life. Their single core problem is not with themselves, but those around them. If they’re never called out on their twisting of truths and fabrications, they simply continue to make larger lies.
Well, Sarah, I’m calling you a liar. And not even a good one. Trig Paxson Van Palin is not your son. He is your grandson. The sooner you come forward with this revelation to the public, the better.

“She’s old enough,” Harris said. “She’s a U.S. citizen.”

Bob Cesca: Seriously? Nookular?
I’m not sure which was more bizarre today.
Governor Palin saying “nuclear” with the same “nookular” pronunciation as both President Bush — and former Vice President Dan Quayle who, if you recall, also used to say “nookular.” Or FOX News Channel’s Steve Doocy suggesting that, heck yeah, Governor Palin has foreign policy credentials because:
…she is right up there in Alaska right next door to Russia.

Why CIA Veterans Are Scared of McCain
“McCain would be an absolute disaster,” says a second recently retired senior US intelligence operations officer. “He is prejudiced against the CIA. The day after the 2004 election when Bush won, McCain came on TV and gave an interview in which he said something to the effect of, ‘The CIA tried to sabotage this election. They’ve made their bed and now they have to lay in it.’ I used to like McCain, but he is inconsistent.” Columnist Robert Novak quoted McCain in November 2004 as saying, “With CIA leaks intended to harm the re-election campaign of the president of the United States, it is not only dysfunctional but a rogue organization.”

David Frum: Palin the irresponsible choice?
Ms. Palin’s experience in government makes Barack Obama look like George C. Marshall. She served two terms on the city council of Wasilla, Alaska, population 9,000. She served two terms as mayor. In November, 2006, she was elected governor of the state, a job she has held for a little more than 18 months. She has zero foreign policy experience, and no record on national security issues.

John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin as vice-presidential nominee | Salon
Aug. 30, 2008 | It is hard to think of a more cynical and contemptuous political act this year than John McCain’s selection of Sarah Palin as his vice-presidential running mate. Having served as governor of Alaska for less than two years — and as mayor of a small town before that — her qualifications for national office are minimal.
Palin is the epitome of tokenism, exactly what conservative Republicans have always claimed to scorn, until today, as the politics of quotas and political correctness. Even Rush Limbaugh is a feminazi now (at least until Election Day).

Scholars question Palin credentials - Fred Barbash and David Mark - Politico.com
John McCain was aiming to make history with his pick of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, and historians say he succeeded.
Presidential scholars say she appears to be the least experienced, least credentialed person to join a major-party ticket in the modern era.
So unconventional was McCain’s choice that it left students of the presidency literally “stunned,” in the words of Joel Goldstein, a St. Louis University law professor and scholar of the vice presidency. “Being governor of a small state for less than two years is not consistent with the normal criteria for determining who’s of presidential caliber,” said Goldstein.
“I think she is the most inexperienced person on a major-party ticket in modern history,” said presidential historian Matthew Dallek.

WASHINGTON, Pennsylvania (CNN) – This might not be the best way to reach out to those disillusioned Hillary Clinton supporters.
In just her second appearance on the campaign trail with John McCain, newly-minted GOP running mate Sarah Palin was showered with boos on Saturday for attempting to praise Clinton’s trail-blazing bid to become the first female president.
